Teflon Conveyor Belt Testing Criteria

Checking of the double side coating
The coating of the belt is varied according to customer’s requirement, such as, some belt is using the 0.75mm fiberglass fabric as the substrate and the coating thickness for one side will be 0.12mm.

Tensile strength testing of the conveyor belt
Testing by professional equipment or checking the diameter of the glass fiber. The tensile strength is different because the clients have different requirement, for example, the latitude strength is 1600N/cm, and radial strength is 1350N/cm.

Bending radius
The bending radius refers to the flexibility of the conveyor belt, once the tensile strength of the conveyor belt is ensured, the conveyor belt will have longer service life if the belt is more flexible.

The abrasion resistance test
Scrapping the PTFE coating with fingernail or on a rough concrete floor.

The tighter the conveyor belt woven, the smaller expansion ratio of the conveyor belt and the stronger tension of the measuring side, which ensures that the belt does not break during the operation of the conveyor belt, and the tension is sufficient.

Adhesion between Teflon coating and fiberglass cloth
Taking two A4 size samples from different manufacturers, folding from the middle, to see which conveyor belt exposed the glass fiber first with same time folds. (Please contact [email protected] for free samples.)

Non-stick test
This is mainly to check the quality of PTFE emulsion, the impregnation process and the Teflon coating. You can use chewing gum, flour, or other strong adhesive materials to press on the conveyor belt to see if it is easy to tear off. This is a visual test.
